Synopsis
Because of excessive health care costs and long inefficient treatment orthognathic surgery has declined dramatically. Today there is an opportunity to solve existing problems which confront most maxillofacial surgeons and orthodontists. These problems will be solved by 3-D accelerated office-based orthognathic surgery and increased orthodontic efficiency.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Optimize the efficiency, stability and predictability of orthodontic therapy with dentoalveolar distraction osteogenesis and selective interdental and subapical osteotomies or corticotomies.
- Describe how to use the RAP effect to accelerate tooth movement faster than conventional orthodontics.
- Describe closure of anterior open bite by orthodontic intrusion of maxillary molars.
- Discuss efficient and accelerated oOrthodontic therapy combining dentoalveolar distraction osteogenesis (DDO) and corticotomy techniques.
