Synopsis

This program will discuss opportunities and my experiences in traveling to 3rd world countries. Most of the discussion will revolve around doing cleft lip and palate surgery in South America and Eastern Europe. Participants will get a list of NGO that they can volunteer with and what skill set they will need to have.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss opportunities to volunteer in third world countries.
  2. Identify the types of surgery that surgeons should know to be of importance.
