Synopsis

Going lean will be a presentation on "Lean Healthcare" which is based on the principles of the Toyota Production System. The goal of this system is to improve patient satisfaction, productivity and receivables by eliminating waste and improving processes. The seven wastes are overprocessing, overproduction, waiting, motion, inventory, transportation and defects. When processes are improved and problems are resolved efficiently, patients receive a value added service.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

Learn the 7 Toyota Production System Principle;
Recognize areas that can be improved using Lean Healthcare; and
Describe how patients benefit from decreased waste.
