This presentation provides an overviews of what it means to make your associate your partner and the obligations that you undertake to each other. It covers: What it means to be a "partner," selling an interest in the practice; and how to structure the transaction.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand what makes your practice valuable to you and your partners and how to realize those values in a buy-in;
  2. Learn how to value your practice fairly and to structure fair financial relationships for buying in; and
  3. Understand how buy-outs are commonly structured to make them fair to both the departing and the remaining members.
