Synopsis

This course satisfies the OSHA Annual Bloodborne Pathogen training requirements. The participant will learn how to comply with OSHA requirements as they apply to dentistry. Take home tools include: how to conduct your own OSHA inspection and organize an office safety meeting. Each participant will receive sample forms and checklists.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the basic elements of a bloodborne pathogen program;
  2. Describe what resources are available for obtaining written OSHA safety plans, learn how to personalize the safety plans, understand what recordkeeping forms are required and locate key state and federal regulations; and
  3. Recognize hazards in the OMS office and learn how to prevent and respond to exposure incidents.
