Employment related cases have seen a 250% increase in the last 10 years and continue to be one of the fastest growing areas of litigation. Claims often stem from doctors' lack of knowledge of their obligations, duties and exposures as employers. This program is designed primarily for doctors and office managers, rather than regular staff. You will learn the fundamental issues of federal and state employment law; sexual harassment; hiring, disciplining and firing employees; discrimination; maternity leave; and wrongful termination. In addition, there will be advice on protocols for prevention policies, and obtaining insurance coverage for such employment claims. This program will also address employment relationships and how you can protect yourself in cases of doctor employing doctor.
