Synopsis
This clinic will be a review of the specific chapters in the AAAHC Standards that apply to the typical oral and maxillofacial surgery office. A review will be given of the timeline, effort, costs and personnel required to successfully undergo the AAAHC survey process and to achieve AAAHC accreditation. This clinic offers 14 chapters, each of which will be highlighted, with time allowed for questions and answers and discussion of specific ways to document meeting these standards.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Understand the standards used by the AAAHC to survey outpatient surgery centers, and specifically, to survey offices for accreditation for office based surgery;
- Understand information necessary to prepare for, and successfully pass, an AAAHC survey;
- Understand the AAAHC credentialing process, and be able to document many of these policies that are already an integral part of practice; and
- Understand the perceived value to the public of AAAHC accreditation and the relative ease with which that accreditation can be obtained.
