Synopsis

Recently, courts have seen verdicts in excess of $1,000,000 in oral and maxillofacial nerve injury cases. Traditional defenses of informed consent and risks of surgery have been eroded by new trial tactics and advances in technology. This informed course will review those changes and discuss the new standards of care, informed refusal and defense against such cases.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Affect a change in patient manageability and record keeping, implementing informed refusal and adjunct to informed consent, and surgical and technological options.
