Synopsis

Many oral and maxillofacial surgeons are joining together. In order for an associateship to be successful, it must be well-planned, thoroughly organized, properly implemented and mutually beneficial. This clinic will address the myriad issues involved in achieving a long-term relationship. It will review the pertinent matters which include, but are not limited to, reasons, feasibility, recruiting, interviewing, compensation, the buy-in, the buy-out and the three phases. It will provide guidelines and discuss certain agreements to ensure the continuity of care for your patients. Agreements which are necessary to implement the various steps and processes.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Explain and illustrate the process that enables interested individuals to plan and succeed in an Associateship from start to finish;
  2. Describe the Associateship process and determine if they can/should enter into an associateship;
  3. Outline the selection process and review the phases of an associateship;
  4. Perceive compensation methods and consider covenants;
  5. Discuss buy-in and buy-out and address the required agreements; and
  6. Share ideas and experience.
