Synopsis

Taxes, death and exiting from your practice are inevitable! At some point you shall exit your practice. The questions, then, are when, under what conditions, in what style and how much you will actually receive and how you will receive it upon exiting. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons spend a great deal of time, money and effort in preparing for, entering into and developing and growing outstanding practices and careers. In order to exit a practice in proper style, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon must develop an exit strategy and pass the ownership torch. Exit planning is different, difficult, long-term, crucial and consists of multiple important steps. Comprehensive exit planning involves tax and estate planning. This Practice Management Clinic will address all of these crucial matters which will enable a prudent oral and maxillofacial surgeon to prepare a carefully planned, profitable and rewarding exit plan.
