Easy, Reliable Alveolar Bone Grafts

Synopsis

Alveolar bone grafts that are performed just prior to or very soon after the beginning of eruption of the maxillary permanent central incisor contra lateral to the cleft provide for almost normal nasal floor height, alveolar bone stock, clinical crown length and attached gingival contour of the six anterior maxillary permanent teeth.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the anatomic and developmental basis as well as step by step surgical technique for successful, fistula free reconstruction of the unilateral and bilateral cleft alveolar defect.
