Synopsis

This clinic will provide the attendees with protocols for managing extraction of teeth and implant placement in the esthetic zone of the maxilla and the mandible. Delayed techniques for multi-rooted teeth and immediate techniques for single rooted teeth in the esthetic zone will be shown in detail, including video clips of surgical procedures. Diagnosis, treatment planning, and timing of treatment will be included. Simplified horizontal ridge augmentation, decreasing the need for onlay grafts will also be shown.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Treatment plan an extraction site for implant placement, including immediate grafting, immediate implant placement, and immediate restoration.
  2. Describe the surgical technique for grafting the molar and single tooth sites for augmentation of height and width of the ridge, prior to implant placement.
  3. Explain the surgical techniques for augmentation of the thin horizontal ridge with particulate materials for later implant placement, decreasing the need for onlay bone graft.
