Synopsis
This program will present diagnosis and treatment planning of dentofacial deformities. Maxillary and mandibular surgical techniques will be discussed including rigid fixation, synthetic bone grafting, and adjunctive procedures. Surgical alteration of the occlusal plane as well as model surgery modifications will also be presented.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Diagnose the most common dentofacial deformities, as well as improve the abilities to develop comprehensive treatment plans;
- Select the appropriate state-of-the-art surgical procedures and proper sequencing to provide the optimal treatment outcomes; and
- Discuss which surgical techniques are predictable for various dentofacial deformities and specific factors that can lead to unfavorable outcomes.
