Synopsis

This presentation will focus on modern methods to utilize technology and well-proven methods to treat the perceived difficult case. Preoperative evaluation reveals the need for procedures prior to implant placement-which are essential for optimal final results. The use of guide stents either model or CT based add to the precision and ease of surgery for both the surgeon and patient. Several cases will be shown.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the clinical scenarios for minimal incision design for implant placement.
  2. Describe the use of and limitations of tunneling techniques to augment horizontal deficient ridges or single tooth sites.
  3. Discuss the methods necessary to use CT scanning for minimally invasive implant reconstruction.
