Synopsis

The course will cover the sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible focusing on unfavorable splits. Basics of prevention and limiting the incidence. Cases of the most common forms of unfavorable splits will be presented with a focus on their management and outcome.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe methods for managing the more common forms of unfavorable splits of the mandible.
  2. Describe the technical and anatomic factors that can lead to unfavorable splits of the mandible.
