Synopsis

Non-Melanotic facial skin cancer has risen in incidence over the last 15 years. The aims of this seminar are to improve recognition and discuss available treatment modalities. After attending this symposium the practitioner should have the skills and evidence base for the diagnosis and treatment of simple facial lesions.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Explain the various presentations of the common non-melanotic skin cancers and focus on visual identification/pattern recognition of actinic keratosis, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma.
  2. Discuss the range of treatment options (and their limitations) available.
  3. Improve aesthetics, acceptance, patient satisfaction and outcome with appropriate reconstruction.
