Synopsis

Obstructive sleep apnea affects more than 3% of the overall population. The pediatric group presents with a unique etiology and difficulties in diagnosis. The elderly population increases with more than 16% incidence of OSAS. Many management modalities have been suggested. Evidence-based treatment strategies will be presented and discussed.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Increase awareness of evidence based treatment strategies in the management of OSAS.
  2. Increase the overall understanding of the long-term effects of OSAS.
  3. Eliminate or at least significantly question anecdotally based therapies.
