Synopsis

Fractures involving the orbital skeleton in either isolation or in concomitance with other injuries present challenges in diagnosis, and management to the oral & maxillofacial surgeon. This presentation will provide an understanding of the patterns of orbital injury, the interpretation of current imaging technology, the parameters for surgical intervention, the surgical approaches to the orbital skeleton, and a discussion of the various materials available for orbital reconstruction.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the principles in the management of orbital fractures, including pertinent anatomy, patterns of injury, surgical approaches, and various materials utilized in their reconstruction; and
