Synopsis

Cosmetic surgery is rapidly evolving as an integral part of OMS practice. This presentation is designed to give a working knowledge of hair transplantation and micrografting technique, one of: the most common procedures for facial enhancement. Specific details on how surgery is performed will be rendered via videotape analysis.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the normal growth cycle of human hair, as well as the optimal sites to harvest donor hair.
  2. Explain the normal stages of hair loss and appropriate hairline placement.
  3. Discuss the techniques of hair transplantation, including minigrafting and micrografting and the anticipated outcomes of each.
