Synopsis

This presentation addresses local and regional flap design with a "problem-solving" approach based on the anatomic and physiologic basis of each flap, the clinical data accumulated in the literature and the presenters' clinical experience. Indications for different flaps as well as short- and long-term results will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss the anatomic and physiologic basis of local and regional flaps in the head and neck region; and
  2. Evaluate and treatment plan lesions of the head and neck region for which local and regional flaps would be indicated.
