Synopsis
The use of sevoflurane as an anesthetic agent presents a great opportunity to safely manage pediatric patients for short duration anesthetic procedures in the office. This clinic will describe the theory and practical use of this agent within an outpatient pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery setting.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Describe the basic modern methods and their differences, advantages and disadvantages for pediatric office-based anesthesia and sedation; and
- Be able to describe the fundamental differences between pediatric and adult respiratory and cardiac physiology.
