Synopsis

Dentoalveolar surgery is the mainstay of many oral and maxillofacial surgery practices. While unwanted and unfortunate, complications can occur with any surgical procedure, no matter how routine. This program will focus on some of the common complications that may be associated with dentoalveolar surgery. Attention will be directed to their recognition, management, and prevention.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize common complications that may occur secondary to dentoalveolar surgery;
  2. Discuss principles of management of complications of dentoalveolar surgery; and
  3. Dicuss and appreciate how to prevent complication associated with dentoalveolar surgery.
