Symposium on Immediate Implants in Extraction Sites


Synopsis

This session will focus on the implant site in areas of critical tooth removal. The incidence of infection when placing an implant immediately into the extraction site will be discussed with evidence based data. Speakers will address the effect of the extraction site healing and how to influence the soft tissue environment with implant position, grafting solutions, and prosthetic solutions.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the rationale for placing implants into extraction sites;
  2. Explain the rationale for delaying implant placement due to bone loss; and
  3. Describe the rationale for performing simultaneous soft tissue procedures at the time of implant placement.
