Symposium: Update on Bisphosphonate Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (BRONJ)


Synopsis

Bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaws is a relatively new entity. Diagnostic and management criteria have been changing as new knowledge evinces itself. This symposium will focus on the latest information that will guide the practitioner in managing these patients

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the pathophysiology of BRONJ;
  2. Discuss the differences in risk between IV and oral agents;
  3. Describe a treatment plan for management of BRONJ; and
  4. Discuss research needs.
