Symposium on Orthognathic Surgery: The Case for Medical Necessity


Synopsis

This symposium will provide the clinician with a better understanding of what is expected in terms of patient evaluation and diagnosis, identifying those parameters that are deemed to be medically necessary requiring treatment.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the rationale for diagnosis and treatment based on medically necessity thresholds for bimaxillary deformities; and
  2. Discuss the application of these thresholds to pursuing medically necessary treatment for these patients.
