The system of healthcare in the United States is likely to undergo change in the years ahead. This symposium will compare how oral and maxillofacial surgery is currently practiced in Canada and the United States and project how future changes in reimbursement and regulation will affect how our specialty will be practiced. A look at the role of medical record keeping as one means to respond to coming regulations and improve office efficiency will be reviewed.
