Symposium on New Technologies for Bone Regeneration

Synopsis

Significant progress has already been made regarding the clinical application of tissue engineering. Many materials for tissue engineering have been proposed over the last several decades and several are currently available for clinical use. This symposium will address the existing growth factors that are currently available for bone and tissue regeneration and discuss the challenges and potential clinical applications of tissue engineering.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the biology and applications of recombinant human bone morphogenic proteins.
  2. Examine the use of platelet derived growth factor for enhancing bone and soft tissue regeneration.
  3. Describe novel biomaterials and their potential clinical applications.
