Technique Pearls Using BMP-2 and Mesh for Reconstruction of Ridge Defects

The reconstruction of the alveolar ridge is an important aspect when placing implants for esthetic considerations. BMP-2 has become very popular for adjunct grafting especially with mesh constructs. This luncheon discussion will review some concepts which will help the clinician avoid costly mistakes and improve outcomes with this material. The experiences the author will help streamline the use of the materials and validate the technique.

  1. Describe better the ways to avoid flap dehiscence.
  2. Predictably increase vertical bone height with BMP-2.
