In OMS practices, change associated with adding new software, a new doctor, a new office manager, another satellite office and retirements, mergers, and imminent changes in health care delivery often cause “loss of stability.” We will review the unanticipated costs associated with change and the hidden financial impact.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Provide a better understanding of the change process in order to reduce the financial impact on the already financially stressed OMS practice;
  2. Plan more effectively for the impact that a planned change may have on personnel at all employment levels in the OMS practice; and
  3. Anticipate and/or mitigate some of the factors associated with the hidden costs of the change process.
