Registration Information

Registration

If you register by July 31, 2011, your registration packet, including meeting badge/badge holder and any tickets purchased, will be mailed to you in late August.

Advance registration is strongly recommended, since it offers the best chance of enrolling in the sessions of your choice, and it will save you time when you arrive in Philadelphia.

Register Online

Only AAOMS fellows and members and their allied staff may register via the AAOMS Web site. All others should mail or fax a completed registration form to the headquarters office. Children and spouses may be registered as guests under the doctor's registration. Please note that attendees registered as guests will not receive continuing education credit for any sessions.

Steps for registering online:

  1. Click the online registration link.

  2. Register multiple attendees from your practice without logging out and entering your credit card information multiple times. Only AAOMS members and fellows may login online. To register allied staff, you must login using your six-digit member identification number. Enter your last name and six-digit member identification number in the fields provided. (Note: If you can't find your member ID, please submit an online request or call AAOMS headquarters at 800/822-6637.) Click the submit button.

  3. Click on the Annual Meeting.

    New Allied Staff Members
    If you have applied for the new allied staff membership category in AAOMS, you may use your ID number to register at the allied staff member rate. If you have not completed an application, please complete and return the application prior to registering online to ensure your discount is reflected on the Web registration. Retroactive refunds will not be awarded for applications received after the online process has been completed.

    Members (including AAOMS Allied Staff Members) - To register yourself, click "register now." You will be taken through a series of screens to choose classes and add guests. After you complete your registration, you will be able to register other attendees for the same meeting or a different meeting by clicking the appropriate button on the checkout summary page.

    Other Allied Staff of an AAOMS Member (US only) - To register allied staff, click "register other attendees." You will be taken to a list of individuals in the database who are affiliated with your practice. To register an individual from the list, click "register now" and you will be taken through a series of screens to choose classes and add guests. To register an individual who does not appear on the list, click "add new registrant." Enter the personal information as requested. The meeting materials for this attendee will be sent to the address you enter. You must choose a category; only allied staff will be allowed to register for the meeting. Click the submit button. You may now select the new individual from the list to register for the meeting.

    Attendees entered during the current transaction will show a status of incomplete on the attendee list until payment has been completed.

  4. Payment must be made by Visa, MasterCard or Discover at the time of registration. You will receive on-screen notification when your payment and registration have been accepted. You will also receive confirmation via e-mail and regular mail. Please retain a copy of the confirmation for your records.

If you need to make changes to your registration after you receive the confirmation, please fax a copy of the confirmation with a note of the changes and your payment information to the AAOMS registration department at 847/678-6279. Ticket exchanges or additions cannot be processed online.

Register By Mail Or Fax

  1. Complete the registration form (photocopies are acceptable). The advance registration deadline is July 31, 2011. Registration fees vary based on the date your registration form is received at AAOMS headquarters. Fees are indicated on the registration form. There is no general registration fee for spouses and AAOMS residents/US dental students. Allied staff must include the practice name in the space provided.

  2. Mail or fax the completed registration form with the appropriate payment to AAOMS by July 31, 2011.

  3. Confirmation of your registration will be sent to you within a few weeks following receipt of your registration form.

Payment

Payment in full must accompany each registration form. Payment may be by check, made payable in US dollars to AAOMS, or by Visa, MasterCard or Discover.

Registration Packet

  1. Your registration packet will be mailed in late August. Registration packets will include your meeting badge, badge holder and any tickets you have purchased.

  2. Watch your mail in the beginning of September for your registration packet!

  3. Bring your meeting badge and tickets to Philadelphia. You do NOT need to stand in line to check-in if you have already received your badge and tickets.

  4. 4. Registrants may proceed to the "Bag/Final Program Pick-up" counter in the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and redeem their ticket for a complimentary conference bag and final program.

*All international (non-US) registrants must check in at the AAOMS "Will Call/International Packet Pickup" counter in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. We regret that we cannot mail registration packets to addresses outside the United States.

Registrations After July 31st

All registration forms received after July 31st will be charged the on site registration fee. Registration packets for any registrations received after July 31st must be picked up at the "Will Call/International Packet Pick-up" counter in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

On Site Registration/Ticket Sales

All meeting attendees who have not preregistered must register on site at the "On Site Registration" counter in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Ticket Information

After July 31, 2011, clinic and lecture tickets, if still available, will be sold at the "On Site Ticket Sales" counter at the Registration Center. Tickets for special events may be available on site; however, since many of these programs have limited attendance, you are encouraged to register early.

Anyone who is registered and wants to exchange tickets for any session should go to the "On Site Registration" counter in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Anyone who is registered and needs a replacement badge should go to the "Replacement Badge/Ticket" counter in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Cancellation of Registration and Refunds

Requests for cancellation of meeting registrations must be made in writing to:

A processing fee of $75 per registrant ($40 for Allied Staff members) will be charged for cancellations that are received by August 13, 2011. Cancellations received after August 13, 2011 are not eligible for a refund. No refunds will be provided to "No Shows." No refunds will be provided on site.

Qualifications For Attendance

AAOMS/SFOMK fellows and members in good standing (those whose 2011 dues are paid in full, and who are not under a period of suspension or expulsion pursuant to the AAOMS Code of Professional Conduct), candidates for membership under a pending application, AAOMS residents in accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery programs, US Dental Students, and guests specifically invited by the AAOMS president are eligible to attend. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons eligible for any category of membership and who are not fellows or members of AAOMS may attend, subject to the following conditions: that sufficient space is available at the annual meeting site and upon payment of the "Us Oms Who Is Not A Member of Aaoms" fee. Allied Staff that are members of AAOMS may attend the meeting at a reduced fee. Please see Allied Staff Membership Application. Persons in health professions not eligible to become AAOMS fellows or members may attend subject to the following conditions: that sufficient space is available at the annual meeting site and upon payment of the non-member registration fee.

Consultants may be invited to the business sessions at the discretion of the AAOMS Board of Trustees.

AAOMS residents/dental students in an accredited program in the US not on file with AAOMS who wish to attend the annual meeting must have their chiefs verify residency status to AAOMS headquarters in writing to attend free of charge. International residents will be charged the same fee as an International OMS who is not a member of AAOMS.

Fellows of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS) may attend for the same registration fee as AAOMS fellows and members.

International OMSs who do not belong to AAOMS or IAOMS may pay the same registration fee as a "Non-Member Who Is Not an OMS."
