Synopsis

Traditional, two-stage implant therapy has not been popular among elderly patients because of multiple surgeries and prolonged treatment. Immediate placement and loading treatment protocol enables clinicians to provide all surgical and prosthetic steps in one visit. The patient leaves with a rigid not resilient implant supported overdenture. On the day of surgery.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Provide comparative analysis of different implant systems geometries on the Micro, Mini and Macro level as they relate to and impact loading approaches.
  2. Provide differences between surgical and prosthetic protocol for immediate placement immediate load therapy compared to Branemark surgical and prosthetic protocol.
  3. : Provide guidelines for proper occlusal schemes, bite registration and load-bearing considerations in fabricating the same-day overdenture.
