Synopsis

We have had over 8 years of experience in using Piezo-Surgery for bone surgery in implant reconstruction as well as other indications. This is an excellent system to use in dissecting the nerve from the surrounding bone. The Piezo-Surgery instruments do no or minimal damage to surrounding soft tissue and nerves. We will report about our experience in indications in Oral and Maxillofacial, craniofacial and basal skull surgery.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the surgical technique involved in using Piezo-Surgery.
  2. Describe how Piezo-Surgery will allow the surgeon to preserve the preserve supply to areas in which a ridge split has been done.
  3. Demonstrate how the use of Piezo-Surgery can preserve soft tissue and nerves in OMS procedures.
