Synopsis

To share the state of the art in surgical techniques and new distraction appliances to widen and lengthen the mandible, widen and lengthen the Maxilla, augment the alveolar ridge to place implants and create new tissues in patients after trauma, tumor resection, GSW’s or clefting, using intraoral Bone Transport.

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the biology and mechanics to perform intraoral distraction osteogenesis
  2. Describe the biology, vector control, and manage complications in severe bone continuity defects with poor blood supply
  3. Describe the biomechanics and clinical management of the 3-D dimensional deficiency
