Synopsis

The incidence of trauma in the pediatric population is much less than the adult trauma population. Although many principles of adult trauma management apply to the pediatric population, there are certainly distinct differences. The course will review the etiology and incidence of pediatric maxillofacial trauma along with representative clinical cases to demonstrate the management of hard and soft tissues injuries in the maxillofacial region.

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the etiology and incidence of pediatric maxillofacial trauma
  2. Review treatment of hard and soft tissue injuries in the pediatric population
  3. Manage complications and treatment variations in pediatric maxillofacial trauma
