Helman, DMD, this symposium will use a case-based format to consider treatment options, including pharyngeal anatomy, and highlight the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation.

Learning Objectives

  1. List common treatment options and discuss effective mechanisms that can be utilized within the obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders population;
  2. Describe the evidence supporting the proposed treatment options and list the indications and outcome measures for the management of obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders; and
  3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of surgical versus nonsurgical treatment of the obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders patient.
