State of the Art Bone Regeneration-Step by Step Instruction in New Techniques: Reconstructive Orthoalveolar Osteotomies for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons: Refinement of the Sandwich Osteotomy toward the use of BMP-2 and Navigation

[SOLD OUT]

Synopsis

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons who are well familiar with orthognathic surgery now address alveolar deficiency sites with alveolar osteotomies in order to gain orthoalveolar form for dental implant reconstruction. The use of the alveolar sandwich osteotomy is now well established as a workhorse for vertical augmentation. There are several location variations for this osteotomy that have been developed for edentulous sites:

  1. Anterior maxillary osteotomies for esthetic management of vertical defects
  2. Posterior maxillary sandwich osteotomies combined with sinus grafts
  3. Anterior mandibular sandwich grafts to level the mandibular alveolar plane
  4. The smile osteotomy for posterior mandibular vertical augmentation

In addition, favorable applications of new technologies such as the use of BMP-2 and navigation are being developed. The workshop will concentrate on technical aspects of performing this surgery which include:

  1. Diagnosis and treatment planning
  2. Sterolithic model or CAT scan analysis
  3. Surgical approaches for small to large segments
  4. Introduction of the sub-total Lefort I sandwich ostoeotmy using BMP-2
  5. Navigation surgery for the sandwich osteotomy

The workshop is meant for a smaller group so that it can be interactive. Video surgery will be used extensively to demonstrate several case variations.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Analyze sterolithic models and CAT scans;
  2. Discuss the surgical approach for small to large segments;
  3. Describe the navigation surgery for the sandwich osteotomy; and
  4. Diagnose and treatment plan patients.

2009 Hands-On Intraoral Soft Tissue Surgical Techniques for Dental Implants

[SOLD OUT]

Synopsis

This course is designed to provide the surgeon with a foundation of knowledge concerning different methods to enhance the soft tissue around implants and teeth. It includes a lab experience on models that provides the attendee with the specific surgical steps for immediate implementation of these procedures in their clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Apply techniques for restoring and preserving the central components of the restorative recipient site.
  2. Implement clinical techniques for using connective tissue grafts, semilunar and free gingival grafts around implants, teeth and pontics.
  3. Administer the clinical techniques necessary to establish predictable combined periodontal and restorative results in implementing the crown lengthening process in the aesthetic zone.

State of the Art Immediate Provisionalization: Step-by-Step Instruction in New Techniques

Synopsis

Immediate provisionalization of implants involves tight coordination between the surgeon, restorative dentist, and the dental laboratory technician. This course will focus on the step by step methods to illustrate to the participants multiple methods to immediate provisionalize single tooth, multiple tooth, and full arch restorations. Indications and contraindications will be shown. Videos will be used to illustrate these methods.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss at least one method to immediately provisionalize a single implant, from initial presentation through laboratory steps to placement and adjustment of the provisional restoration.
  2. Describe at least one method to immediately provisionalize multiple implants placed for a 3 to 5 unit restoration, from initial presentation through laboratory steps to placement and adjustment of the provisional restoration.
  3. Explain at least one method to immediately provisionalize multiple implants placed for a full arch restoration in a edentulous arch, from initial presentation through laboratory steps to placement and adjustment of the provisional restoration.
