The biennial Research Summit was previously convened in 2005 and 2007. The 2009 Research Summit program presentation topics include:
- Salivary Proteomics and Biomarkers
- Craniofacial Neuropathic Pain: Mechanisms and Advanced Imaging
- Advances in Imaging and Simulation Technologies
- Biomaterials in Tissue Engineering
- Developmental Biology and Stem Cells in Tissue Engineering
In an effort to enhance attendee participation and to ensure that the presentations lead to discussion of research applications to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS), we are including the following activities in the 2009 Research Summit program:
Lunch and Learns: Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with speakers and members of the ACRPTA during the luncheons that will be provided on both days of the Research Summit.
Poster Sessions: Attendees are invited to submit abstracts for poster sessions that will be held during the two-hour luncheon periods. Please submit the poster session application form with your Research Summit registration form.
Breakout sessions: Attendees will be invited to participate in one of four breakout sessions scheduled for the afternoon of the second day of the Summit. The primary purpose of these sessions is to develop applications of the presented research for OMS. To assist us in assigning participants to each group — please rank your preference for each breakout group topic on the Research Summit registration form. Groups will be filled on a first come first served basis.
