Become a Member of the ROAAOMS Executive Committee
Assume an active role in your resident organization and become a candidate for the positions of district representative and/or vice chairman.
Candidates for district representative and vice-chair must submit an application along with their election platform to the AAOMS Headquarters Division of Advanced Education and Resident Affairs outlining their goals for the resident organization, including implementation strategies.
These items will be processed and distributed during the ROAAOMS annual business meeting. Vice chair candidates will be presented to and elected by residents in attendance, while six district representative candidates will be introduced to and elected by ROAAOMS members from their respective geographical districts. Candidates not elected to vice-chair may run for district representative. The candidate for vice chair will serve a three-year term on the executive committee: the first year as vice chair, the following year as chairman, and the final year as immediate past chairman. District representatives, serve a one-year term and can be re-elected to a second term at the following annual meeting program. The ROAAOMS executive committee consists of chair, vice chair, immediate past chair, faculty section liaison, two committee liaisons representatives and six district representatives.
Election of the 2011-2012 ROAAOMS Executive Committee will be held during the annual business and educational program scheduled from 12Noon to 4:30pm on Friday, September 16, 2011. Candidates for vice chair and district representative must have at least 18 months of residency training remaining.
