Accreditation

When opening a practice, consideration should be given to obtaining accreditation from one of the nationally recognized accrediting bodies: (1) Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC); (2) The Joint Commission; and (3) Medicare Facility Certification. You may want to contact any of these organizations to request for fee information and copies of their (1) Survey Application; (2) Self-Assessment Checklist; and (3) Ambulatory Facility Accreditation Manual at the following Web sites or numbers:

Financing

In regards to information about how and where to obtain financing for opening up your own practice, you may want to contact your state dental society to ask if they can provide you with a reference for a banking institution in the area where you may be able to obtain financing. In addition, you may want to try contacting a financing company through the AAOMS Supplier Marketplace.
