Overview

The Staff Associate reports to the Manager of the Advanced Education & Resident Affairs and is responsible for supporting the manager in operational and administrative activities related to the development, implementation, and conduct of advanced education and related resident and faculty activities and programs.  Specifically, the Staff Associate is responsible for supporting the division in operational and administrative activities. The following activities fall under the purview of the Advanced Education and Resident Affairs Staff Associate:

Logistical, operational, and administrative support for

  • Residents Organization of AAOMS
  • Committee on Education and Training
  • Committee on Research Planning and Technology Assessment (CRPTA)
  • Advanced Education and Professional Affairs Meetings
  • Faculty Educator Development Award
Qualifications
  • Proficient writing skills
  • Exceptional planning and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer Service experience
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point
  • Committee liaison experience
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • At least 2 years relative customer service experience
  • Highly motivated, team player

  • Committee and task force operational and administrative support and meeting logistics
  • Assist members with inquiries related to Advanced Education and Resident Affairs
  • Resident Activities (ROAAOMS)
  • Faculty Activities (FEDA / CET)
  • Website Audits


DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Committee operational, meeting logistics, and Administrative support to AEPA
    • Agenda preparation and dissemination
    • Coordinate meeting logistics
    • Travel and hotel arrangements
    • In-house meeting arrangements
    • Coordination of mailings/communications
  • AAOMS Resident Organization (ROAAOMS)
    • Assist in creation of content for faculty and residents electronic alerts  
    • Assist in the assembly of meeting agendas
    • Assist in the coordination of Resident Standalone Meetings and Events
    • Assist in the implementation of actions and activities of the committee
    • Develop resident Facebook postings
  • Committee on Education and Training
    • Coordinate FEDA award application packet
    • Assist in the development of meeting agendas
  • Committee on Research Planning and Technology Assessment (CRPTA)
    • Assist manager in the coordination of the biennial Clinical Scientific Innovations in OMS Conference
    • Assist in organizing all logistics for the biennial Clinical Trials Course
    • Assist in the development of meeting agendas
    • Handles all committee housing and travel arrangements
  • Web Content Auditor
    • Conduct quarterly audits to all AEPA web pages, as related to advanced education and professional affairs

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned by the Manager, Advanced Education and Resident Affairs.
