Overview
The Editorial Associate is responsible for providing editorial reviews of and copy writing for print and digital publications in support of the Association’s overall goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan. The Editorial Associate reports to the Associate Executive Director, Communications and Publications.
Qualifications
- 3-7 years of relevant professional experience.
- College degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English or equivalent.
- Excellent writing, copyediting and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and knowledge of AP style.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently but collaboratively.
Key Accountabilities
- Edit, fact-check and proofread print and digital copy for magazine, emails, website, journal, event programs, marketing collateral and social media for Association’s publications, campaigns, events and initiatives.
- Write copy for magazine, emails, journal news, website and other communication channels – ensuring materials match the AAOMS style and branding guidelines.
- Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned by the Editorial Associate Executive Director, Communications and Publications.
