Overview

The Staff Associate reports to the Manager of the Advanced Education & Resident Affairs and is responsible for supporting the manager in operational and administrative activities related to the development, implementation, and conduct of advanced education and related resident and faculty activities and programs.  Specifically, the Staff Associate is responsible for supporting the division in operational and administrative activities. The following activities fall under the purview of the Advanced Education and Resident Affairs Staff Associate:

Logistical, operational, and administrative support for

  • Residents Organization of AAOMS (ROAAOMS)
  • Committee on Education and Training (CET)
  • Committee on Research Planning and Technology Assessment (CRPTA)
  • Advanced Education and Professional Affairs (AEPA) Meetings
  • Faculty Educator Development Award (FEDA)

  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point
  • Committee liaison experience
Key Accountabilities
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Committee operational, meeting logistics, and Administrative support to AEPA
    • Agenda preparation and dissemination
    • Coordinate meeting logistics
    • Travel and hotel arrangements
    • In-house meeting arrangements
    • Coordination of mailings/communications
  • AAOMS Resident Organization (ROAAOMS)
    • Assist in creation of content for residents electronic alerts and newsletters
    • Assist in the coordination of meetings and conferences
    • Assist in the implementation of actions and activities of the committee
    • Develop content for and manage resident Facebook page
  • Committee on Education and Training (CET)
    • Review and assemble award applications
    • Assist in the development of faculty newsletters
    • Assist in the implementation of an online learning portal
  • Committee on Research Planning and Technology Assessment (CRPTA)
    • Assist manager in the coordination of meetings and conferences
    • Manage resident travel scholarship applications for attendance at conferences
    • Assist with onsite registration and logistics for meetings and conferences
  • Web Content Auditor
    • Conduct quarterly audits to all AEPA web pages, as related to advanced education and professional affairs

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned by the Manager, Advanced Education and Resident Affairs.
