2020 Day on the Hill
March 24-25, 2020
Renaissance Downtown Hotel
Day on the Hill is an event established to encourage OMSs to advocate for the specialty. Legislators are most receptive to the voices of their constituents, so it is important that you, as both an OMS and a constituent, meet with your congressional offices to inform them about the issues important to the specialty, your practice and your patients.
Day on the Hill gives members the opportunity to hear from members of Congress and AAOMS lobbyists on the state of play in Washington, learn tips for advocating and conveniently visit Capitol Hill for meetings with policymakers about issues affecting the specialty.
By participating in Day on the Hill, you will be a part of the OMS Action Network, a special group of members who actively cultivate AAOMS’s advocacy impact in Washington!
AAOMS Day on the Hill canceled
AAOMS Day on the Hill, scheduled for March 24 – 25 in Washington, D.C., has been canceled out of an abundance of caution due to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This serious decision was made to reduce potential exposure to attendees and staff.
AAOMS is developing plans for a virtual Day on the Hill. The cancellation of the in-person meeting will make participation of all AAOMS members in the virtual program much more important, especially as AAOMS is expecting actions related to the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act, the Resident Education Deferred Interest (REDI) Act and surprise billing. Be on the lookout for more information on virtual Day on the Hill so you can add your voice to advocacy efforts.
