COVID-19 safety

It is strongly encouraged that meeting attendees be fully vaccinated.

Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal or territorial laws, rules and regulations – including local business and workplace guidance.

In areas with high numbers of COVID-19 cases, consider wearing a mask in crowded settings and for activities with close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated.

People who have a condition or are taking medications that weaken their immune system may not be protected even if they are fully vaccinated. They should continue to take all precautions recommended for unvaccinated people, including wearing a well-fitted mask, until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider.

AAOMS will continue to monitor CDC and local recommendations and update safety measures as appropriate. For the most up-to-date information on health and safety precautions and requirements, continue to monitor this page.
