Deadlines extended to Oct. 30
Geistlich Philip J. Boyne Memorial Scholarship
AAOMS is pleased to announce the Philip J. Boyne Memorial Scholarship Fund supported by Geistlich Biomaterials to provide assistance to OMS residents participating in the AAOMS Dental Implant Conference being held Dec. 5-7 in Chicago, Ill.
The award will be granted to support 50 residents at $1,000 each. The award monies will be disbursed within two weeks following the conclusion of the Dental Implant Conference.
Dr. Philip J. Boyne spent a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy and a second career as a professor and research scientist in advanced dental education. His research and teachings covered many areas with a focus on maxillofacial bone grafting and regeneration. He was the first to develop and report many surgical procedures. His research involved the application of bone-inductor cytokines to produce bone repair without the necessity of bone grafting. Dr. Boyne authored textbooks and book chapters on maxillofacial surgery and published more than 230 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He passed away June 9, 2008, and will be remembered for his positive outlook on life, enthusiastic spirit, legacy of mentorship, creativity, dedication to dental education research and unfailing adaptability.
Interested residents must complete the award application and return it to AAOMS by Friday, Oct. 18, 2019. Award recipients will be notified by AAOMS via email Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019.
Oral Surgery Partners scholarship
Oral Surgery Partners is pleased to offer ten resident travel awards in the amount of $1,000 each to the 2019 AAOMS Dental Implant Conference in Chicago, Ill. Interested residents must complete the award application and return it to AAOMS by Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019. Award recipients will be notified by AAOMS via email Friday, Oct. 25, 2019.

Resident Transitions into Practice Conference
Congratulations to the Resident Transitions into Practice Conference scholarship recipients! Twenty-five residents received financial support to attend the conference held Feb. 2-3 in Rosemont, Ill. Residents learned essential non-clinical information to help their transition from residency to practice. The scholarships were generously supported by AAOMS and the Osteo Science Foundation.
Congratulations to the Clinical and Scientific Innovations in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CSIOMS) conference recipients! Twelve residents, dental students and fellows received financial support to attend the conference held April 26-28 in Rosemont, Ill. The scholarships were generously supported by the OMS Foundation and Osteo Science Foundation.
International Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Congratulations to the International Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery scholarship recipients! Drs. Rian Cho and Matthew Green received financial support to attend the conference being held May 21-24 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The scholarships provide an opportunity for residents to expand their knowledge and understanding of full-scope OMS from a global perspective.
AAOMS Annual Meeting
Congratulations to the Annual Meeting scholarship recipients! Seventeen residents will receive financial support to attend the meeting being held Sept. 16-21 in Boston, Mass. The scholarships were generously supported by the Osteo Science Foundation. In addition, several resident spouses will receive financial support to attend the meeting. The resident spouse scholarships were generously supported by the OMS Foundation.
