Is it too late to register for the 2017 Annual Meeting?

Answer:

Online registration is now closed. Those who have not registered in advance may do so on-site at the AAOMS Registration Center in the Moscone Convention Center South. 

What transportation is available from the airport to the hotel?

Answer:

San Francisco International Airport: Taxis are available in the designated taxi zones located at the roadway center islands on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level of all terminals. To the headquarters hotel, fare is approximately $50 one way.

The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station – located at the International Terminal, Departures/Ticketing level (Boarding Area G side) – and the SamTrans bus system are available for transport.

How do I download the meeting mobile app?

Answer:

Search for “AAOMS Events” in the App Store (Apple devices) or the Google Play Store (Android devices). Or from any internet-enabled device, visit m.core-apps.com/aaomsevents for links to the app and tips for using it. Or scan the QR code on the signs around the convention center.

The app is designed to include multiple events, so if you already have the AAOMS Events app installed on your device from a past meeting, from the dashboard, select the gear icon in the upper-right corner, click “Exit to Show List,” then select 2017 Annual Meeting from the Installed Shows to download.

How do I use the meeting mobile app?

Answer:

For an overview of all the features of the app and tips for using it, visit AAOMS.org/AAOMS2017app.  For more information on how to access these features, please visit the AAOMS Social Media Bar open during the regular Exhibit Hall hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

How do I connect to the wireless internet at the Convention Center?

Answer:

Connect to network AAOMS2017. No password is required.

How do I get my CE credit?

Answer:

Claim CE credit for sessions you attend at AAOMS.org/MyCE. This website can be accessed at the Internet CEnter in the South Lobby of the Moscone Convention Center or from your personal device. Free Wi-Fi is available at the Moscone Convention Center. Sessions can be evaluated until Dec. 31.

On the website, log in to the system using your last name and badge number. If you are evaluating a paid ticketed session, you must be registered for that session in order to complete the evaluation and receive credit. The Anesthesia Update Preconference also requires separate registration to access the CE evaluation. If you are still having trouble accessing the site at the Annual Meeting, you may visit the program office in Room 104-105 or call 415-978-3503. Where is the Program Office/Speaker Ready Room?

Answer:

The Program Office/Speaker Ready Room is located in Room 104-105 at the Moscone Convention Center. The hours are:

Tuesday, Oct. 10 Noon – 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 11 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 12 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Where are scientific posters located?

Answer:

Both electronic and printed scientific posters will be available during the Annual Meeting. Poster boards will be on display in the Exhibit Hall. E-posters will be accessible online and through the meeting app starting Oct. 8. During the meeting, scan the QR code attached to each poster board to view the e-poster on your mobile device.

Where and how do I get handouts?

Answer:

Handouts can be downloaded to your device at AAOMS.org/SanFrancisco in the Sessions & Events section. Handouts also can be downloaded through the 2017 Annual Meeting mobile app. Note: not all speakers have provided a handout.

Why am I unable to log in to the system to obtain handouts or claim CE credit?

Answer:

Only meeting registrants can log in to the online system to access handouts or record CE credit using the Registration/Member ID number noted on their meeting badge and confirmation letter. 

Registration/Member ID numbers are 8 digits. AAOMS Members: please note your member ID number now begins with two zeros. 

Please confirm that you have correctly entered all 8 digits as displayed on your badge and confirmation letter. If you have entered the correct number and still experience problems, please contact the AAOMS Continuing Education Department for assistance.

How can I order recordings of educational sessions?

Answer:

Recordings can be pre-ordered at the Recordings Kiosk in the South Lobby or at AAOMS.org/Recordings. They will be available by mid-November. Special pricing is available for attendees who order on-site: an entire set is $499 ($599 after Oct. 15). Visit AAOMS.org/Recordings for complete information.

What is the ticketing process for educational sessions?

Answer:

  • If you registered for a paid course, the ticket was included in your registration packet.
  • A paid ticket guarantees a seat in the specified course.
  • Available tickets can be purchased at the onsite registration desk in the South Lobby.
  • Didactic clinical courses do not have any tickets. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Day passes are required for admission to Practice Management and Professional Staff Development sessions and are good for any course for the day that is purchased. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Day Passes can be purchased at the onsite registration desk as available.

I’ve lost my meeting badge and/or session tickets. How do I obtain a replacement?

Answer:

Visit the “Replacement Badge” counter at the Attendee Registration Center in the Moscone Convention Center South to receive a replacement badge or ticket. 

Is transportation provided from the hotels to the convention center?

Answer:

Shuttle service is not provided between the host hotels and the convention center. The host hotel is a short walk to the Moscone Convention Center South. To view a map of the area, visit the Annual Meeting Hotel and Travel page.  

During the President’s Event on Friday evening, shuttle service will be provided between the San Francisco Marriott Marquis and the California Academy of Sciences.

Where are the hands-on cadaver courses (sessions XH11 and XH12) located?

Answer:

Both cadaver labs will be on Thursday, Oct. 12 at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Anatomy Lab (Faculty and Staff Entrance at 155 Fifth St.). It is about three blocks from the convention center. 

When and where are the Corporate Forums?

Answer:

There are four corporate forums running concurrently 5:30 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. They are:

When and where is the Product Theater?

Answer:

The Product Theater open 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday is located in the Exhibit Hall behind the 2200 aisle.

What is Learning Hub Playground?

Answer:

Learning Hub Playground Sessions are fun, upbeat alternatives to classroom learning that allow attendees to experience and play with a variety of immediately useable tools, techniques and resources to implement in their practice. Three different sessions will run daily. Session offerings change daily. It is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Exhibit Hall, Booth 541.

Where do I get my professional headshot photo taken?

Answer:

Exhibit Hall, Booth 2108. This service is free for all Annual Meeting attendees.

What is the AAOMS Social Media Bar?

Answer:

Attendees are invited to become social media savvy by visiting the Social Media Bar open during the regular Exhibit Hall hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Located in the Exhibit Hall, Booth 1826, the Social Media Bar offers one-on-one personalized consulting sessions and brief “learning labs.” The experts at the Social Media Bar will teach attendees how to take full advantage of social networking sites – including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest and more – to advance goals and promote a practice. Whether you’re a complete novice or a more experienced user, our experts are here to help.

Is there a message board where I can post messages to other attendees?

Answer:

There is not a message board to post messages; however, you can connect with colleagues through the mobile app as long as the attendees have given permission for the app to show their profile. Is there a job board where I can post or review available career opportunities?

Answer:

There is a job board in the Member Pavilion available during the regular Exhibit Hall hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Membership Services/Career Line Booth 1616.

Where is first aid located?

Answer:

First aid is located in the Convention Center North Hall: First Aid Office. The hours are:

Where is next year’s meeting?

Answer:

The 100th AAOMS Annual Meeting, Scientific Sessions, and Exhibition will be held Oct. 8 to 13, 2018, in Chicago, Ill., at the Hilton Chicago and the McCormick Place West. More information will be posted at AAOMS.org/Chicago

Where is the closest ATM?

Answer:

Moscone Center has an ATM machine in the lower lobby of Moscone North.

Where is lost and found?

Answer:

A lost-and-found box will be at Attendee Registration. At the end of each day, items are turned in at the Security Office. Attendees can fill out a Lost and Found Form at Attendee Registration with contact information.

Do you have a coat check or luggage check?

Answer:

Luggage Check is located in the South Lobby. The hours are:

Friday, Oct. 13  7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 14 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

When is the President’s Event?

Answer:

The President’s Event is 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at the California Academy of Sciences. Tickets are $115 each. Tickets for children (under 21 years old) are $60 and must be purchased with an adult ticket. Shuttles will pick up from the Travel and Transportation Lobby of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. 

I didn’t receive any Bucks/Money in my registration packet.

Answer:

AAOMS has discontinued the use of Bucks/Money. 

I lost my ticket for complimentary lunch on Friday in the Exhibit Hall.

Answer:

Go to the Attendee Registration Center for a replacement.

I didn’t get a lunch ticket for my spouse/guest.

Answer:

These were given to paid attendees, not guests. Go to the Attendee Registration Center, which may have extras.
