This program is being offered to AAOMS members at a rate of $800 per participant. Once individuals register, travel details and pre-assessment items will be provided. Registration ends June 9 unless capacity is met before that date. No waiting list will be available for this program.

BEAM module learning objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review sedation monitoring.
  • Describe supplemental O2 techniques.
  • Apply techniques for opening an airway.
  • Explain BVM using one- and two-person techniques.
  • Demonstrate proper LMA insertion technique.
  • Demonstrate proper Airtraq insertion technique.

Participants will master:

  • Bag-mask ventilation, using one- and two-person techniques for both normal and difficult simulated ventilation situations.
  • LMA insertion using proper technique.
  • Airtraq insertion using proper technique.

BEAM schedule and session information

CDE/CME credit for this activity includes successful completion of an online two-hour, pre-assessment prior to arrival of the course. Information on how to access the pre-assessment will be provided to attendees upon registration. Each registrant may attend only one session.

Instruction and simulation on O2 tank, bag-mask ventilation and laryngeal mask airway scenarios, and instruction and simulation on Airtraq and pediatric emergencies. 

Travel considerations

Travel considerations

For a discounted room rate, registrants must make housing arrangements directly with the hotel listed in the registration confirmation. AAOMS members must specify they are attending the AAOMS simulation program to receive a discounted rate. Unless otherwise noted, overnight and/or day parking at host hotels is not included and/or validated in the room rate. Please do not make hotel or travel reservations until you have received registration confirmation from AAOMS.

Cancellation policy

A $200 cancellation fee will be applied if a written cancellation is received more than 30 days prior to a scheduled simulation program. However, the entire registration fee will be forfeited if a written cancellation is received fewer than 30 days in advance.

Continuing education provider approval

AAOMS is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

AAOMS designates this activity for six hours of continuing education credits.
