Accreditation

When opening a practice, consideration should be given to obtaining accreditation from one of the nationally recognized accrediting bodies: (1) Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC); (2) The Joint Commission; and (3) Medicare Facility Certification. You may want to contact any of these organizations to request for fee information and copies of their (1) Survey Application; (2) Self-Assessment Checklist; and (3) Ambulatory Facility Accreditation Manual at the following Web sites or numbers:

State Dental Boards and Associations may have additional information and resources available, and may be able to refer attorneys and CPAs who specialize in healthcare.
